Founded in 1991. A member of Roos Electronics since 2003.

 

The company was founded in order to liberalize the market exclusively occupied (especially in DIY) by wireless alarm products developed and manufactured in France, and consequently rather expensive. The basic thinking was that the development pattern of consumer electronics sales, mostly based on lower prices obtained through manufacturing in Asia, should also be followed sooner or later by home security products, thus opening a market of 60 million people where less than 8% of households own a security system.

Rather than a box moving philosophy, the idea was also that extended services should be made available for end users and also of retail stores, taking essentially into consideration the lack of technical information and understanding of such products by most consumers.

For that reason a free telephone hotline was made available for both consumers and store keepers 6 days a week for pre and after sales questions. Also detailed sales brochures for every system were made. As one of the first alarm companies in France, Eden launched a website featuring a user discussion forum, a retailer research module and the possibility to download technical leaflets. Furthermore, video demonstration tapes and training tapes were introduced.

 

Since its foundation, Eden had built itself a reputation of outstanding customer service and value for money spreading a narrow range of products over a broad distribution network including major mail order electronic catalogues, leading DIY stores, and smaller electronic stores.
